So you decide how far you go and where you walk. In the dunes you will find dune forests and dune valleys with occasional beautiful views of the sea. North of Julianadorp there are also all kinds of bunkers hidden away, dating back to the time of Napoleon. Who would have thought that walking in the dunes could be so varied?

Hiking in Callantsoog

Are you staying in Callantsoog? Then you can walk from the bustling center onto the beach in no time. Moreover, near Callantsoog you will also find the Zwanenwater, a beautiful natural monument with unique white dunes. The discoloration is caused by a lack of calcium and is not common outside the Kop van Noord-Holland. Thanks to the unique composition of the subsoil, in summer you will find all kinds of rare plants here, such as various orchid species. In autumn, unusual species of mushrooms grow here. Good to know, this area is a resting and breeding area where dogs are unfortunately not welcome. Fortunately, you can take your four-legged friend for a walk on the beach and in the dunes.

Wandelen in Callantsoog

Verblijf je in Callantsoog? Dan wandel je vanuit het bruisende centrum in een oogwenk het strand op. Bovendien vind je bij Callantsoog ook het Zwanenwater, een prachtig natuurmonument met unieke witte duinen. De verkleuring ontstaat door een gebrek aan kalk en komt buiten de Kop van Noord-Holland niet vaak voor. Dankzij de unieke samenstelling van de ondergrond vind je hier ‘s zomers allerlei zeldzame planten, zoals verschillende orchideeënsoorten. In het najaar groeien hier bijzondere soorten paddenstoelen. Goed om te weten, dit gebied is een rust- en broedgebied waar honden helaas niet welkom zijn. Gelukkig kan je met je trouwe viervoeter wel heerlijk uitwaaien op het strand en in de duinen.
